n 1990, a chance encounter with a homeless father and son changed the life of Denny Hancock forever.  With the support of family and friends, Denny founded Mamma’s Hands and, in 1995, the HOUSE of HOPE.  Our mission is to help those in crisis regain their self-respect and help them become productive members of society.  With the help of countless volunteers and donors, Mamma’s Hands has grown into a powerful force for good in the Seattle area.  We hope you will take time to explore this site.  Click below to learn about Mamma’s Hands’ story.

Friends of Youth partners with House of Hope to provide youth counseling
We are excited to have the volunteer services of Mary Jane Almeda, Youth and Family Therapist, from Friends of Youth working with our youngest residents! Mary Jane believes that her life work is to serve the youth of all different kinds of backgrounds and to help them express themselves through art and creativity.
